Thomas Terbeck – founder of weltweiser and International Education Network
Driven by wanderlust, Thomas Terbeck traveled as an exchange student, backpacker, language student, intern and Erasmus student to almost 40 countries around the world up to the age of 25.
After the response to the first publication of the Handbuch Fernweh had shown how great the need for independent advice is in the areas of stays abroad as well as education & careers, Thomas founded the independent educational advice service weltweiser® in 2000.
In order to structurally separate international activities, the Internet platform business and services in the B2B area from global ones, the International Education Network GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 2005.
About weltweiser – the independent educational advisory service & publisher
weltweiser is an independent educational advisory service & publisher. We have made it our business to provide professional information about stays abroad and international educational opportunities such as student exchanges, high school stays, becoming a host family, language trips, au pair, work & travel, internships, volunteering and studying abroad.
We are neither an exchange organization nor a tour operator. Our job is to take a close look at the offers of different organizers and to find the best individual programs for each individual interested. Our diverse experiences that we have made abroad help us in this.
weltweiser is the organizer of the youth education fair JuBi, the largest special fair for stays abroad. As a publisher, we also publish print guides on the topic of the year abroad and gap year. Last but not least, weltweiser forms the umbrella for the WELTBÜRGER scholarships.
